Transformation In Motion
What would you do if you couldn’t prove who you are – no ID, no home, and no job? For thousands of people across Oklahoma, that’s reality. Without identification or job skills, they remain locked out of housing, employment – even hope.
At Good Samaritan Outreach, we believe transformation isn’t just possible, it’s measurable. Often, it starts with just helping someone get their ID, temporary housing, then job training, workforce development, and much more. Through our Thrive Program, we’re helping men overcome barriers to employment and independence
Transformation in Motion is more than our fall campaign theme, it’s our mission in action. This fall, we’re expanding our Workforce and Career Development Program, which provides vocational training, mentorship, and access to stable housing for men in crisis. And you can help!
Success story of Workforce and Career Development
Let me tell you about Chebon. When he first entered GSO’s Thrive Program in 2022, he struggled to stay on course. In fact, it took him four separate tries before he found the strength and focus to finish. But we never closed the door on him. With guidance, accountability, and compassion, Chebon began to rebuild his confidence and his future. This year, he earned two scholarships to complete a welding training and certification program, opening the door to a new career and a new life.
Chebon’s story is why we do what we do. It’s why we keep the door open for every man who’s ready to try again.
The Thrive Program walks with men every step of the way, from the moment they enter our doors to the moment they step into new careers and leadership roles. Each man progresses through structured phases:
- Alpha Phase: Obtaining ID, health care coordination, mentorship, and Work Start Program
- Bravo Phase: Career planning, job searches, budgeting, and mentorship for Alpha level clients
- Charlie Phase: Employment sustainment, provide mentorship to Bravo level clients
- Delta Phase: Leadership development and on-the-job experience through in-house roles at GSO.
This fall, we’re seeking to raise $50,000 to expand Thrive and our Workforce Development initiatives—giving more men like Chebon the opportunity to succeed.
Your support will help fund:
- $5,000 for laptops and computers for work training courses
- $15,000 for program development (online courses, workbooks, and materials)
- $20,000 for scholarships and training costs (vocational and certification programs)
- $10,000 for a part-time program manager
And thanks to a generous, foundation partner, the first $10,000 of donations will be matched which doubles your donation!
Your gift today will provide:
- Assistance with housing and identification recovery
- Hands-on job training and financial literacy workshops
- Transportation to interviews and work programs
- A community of accountability, support, and hope
Please join us in putting Transformation in Motion: From Barriers to Breakthroughs. Together, we can turn setbacks into success stories and help men build stronger futures for themselves, their families, and their communities.
